Praying Psalm 78:1-8

Lord, help me to live in accordance with your overarching purpose for my life - to learn your ways and teach them to the next generation, to tell the next generation about your power and about the glorious deeds and wonders that you have done on our behalf.

Grant me an open heart that I might hear your voice in your word.

And help me teach those you have placed in my sphere of influence in such a way that they will teach others.

May we not have lives characterized by independence from you.

Instead, give us hearts that are steadfast and faithful to you.

These are the foundation that enables us to set our hope on you in the day of battle.
