Sixty One Brand Clothing’s Campaign To End Slavery

My virtual friend Ben Bajarin and two of his acquaintances have recently launched a great new company and accompanying website - Sixty One Brand Clothing.
Besides offering some truly amazing and unique clothing items:
Sixty One is about a much larger mission, described on their “About 61” page:
We are about fashion liberation. Our goal is to make clothing that frees our designers to be authentically creative, giving you the opportunity to release your inner sense of beauty. But we are about more than just amazing fashion – we are about freeing the people that make your clothing. In the apparel industry, slavery and labor abuse is prevalent. We are doing something about it by creating jobs with living wages, freeing slaves, and helping them transition safely into society. Our long term goal is that each product from Sixty One Brand Clothing is not only very creative and distinctive but is also slave free, fair trade, and organic.
When you wear our clothes, you stand for something more than just your own great style and taste – you support the work to treat people in the apparel industry with dignity.
Your purchases help us to free people caught in systemic poverty and give them a job paying a living wage. Beyond our goals of becoming fully slave free, fair trade, and organic, we take 10% of our operating profit (the purchase price minus our cost of the garment) to help the modern day abolitionist movement succeed.
I would encourage us all to visit the Sixty One Brand Clothing website and consider not only purchasing some great clothes but also joining Sixty One in their fight to eliminate the twin scourges of slavery and poverty from our planet.
Are we about fashion liberation?
